Course Description and Prices

Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessel License (OUPV).................................$775

Also known as "6 pack".

An OUPV License allows a captain to operate uninspected vessels up to 100 gross tons with a maximum of six passengers. To qualify one must be 18 years or older and must document 360 days on the water experience.

On the first day of class we go over proper completion of the USCG application for a captains license and the TSA application for a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) card. We encourage you to complete this application as soon as possible. The USCG Regional Exam Center can take several weeks to process applications. Keep a copy of all paperwork submitted to the US Coast Guard.

There are four (4) exams required for an OUPV license and you get a total of three (3) tries at each exam. Upon successful completion of the OUPV, plus required exams, a Certificate of Completion will be issued. Certificates are mailed to students after testing is completed. These Certificates show that you have completed all course hours and exams per USCG requirements and expire one (1) year from the date on the Certificate. Your Certificate is submitted to the USCG along with your completed application.

You must present a picture idenitfication document on the first day of class.
